Mirza Mahmood Ahmad is regarded as a leading expert on capital markets and the oil and gas sector in Pakistan. His knowledge and expertise relating to the banking sector, as well as other financial institutions is extensive -- he has more than twenty-six years of experience in representing and advising various banks, brokerage houses, investment advisory entities and financial institutions vis-à-vis the legal and regulatory regime pertaining to the financial sector in Pakistan and beyond. He has served on the boards of the state-owned oil and gas companies for almost nine years and has advised them on all legal matters during this time. Particularly, he was an active participant of the Boards of SNGPL and SSGC during the decision phase of including LNG into the natural gas supply of the country. He has appeared and argued dozens of cases before the banking courts at Lahore, Karachi and Multan. He has also represented various brokerage houses before the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). Mirza Mahmood Ahmad is also highly regarded as an authority on privatization, foreign direct investment, joint ventures, intellectual property rights, mergers and acquisitions, commercial arbitration (both domestic and international), energy and power projects, banking law, corporate governance and sales tax. Mirza Mahmood Ahmad regularly delivers lectures at the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Pakistan, in its directors training program.
